Luke Bryan is the subject of a new IMDb TV five-part docuseries, My Dirt Road Diary, which will tell the story of the ups, downs, triumphs, and tragedies of the American Idol judge’s country music career and examine his personal life through original home videos, interviews and incredibly personal footage.
“The devotion and support of my fans are the reason I have made it this far in my career,” Luke says. “Life can be tough, and the past 15 months have been very difficult for everyone. I hope in sharing this raw look into my life that it may be an encouragement to others. Through the heartaches, triumphs can come.”
When Luke isn’t performing, recording or judging American Idol, he’s a dad to five kids. Here’s everything we know about his family life:
How many kids does Luke Bryan have?
Luke has five children: Luke and wife Caroline Boyer have two sons of their own, but they’ve also adopted their nephew and two nieces: Til, Jordan and Kris.
Who are the mothers of Luke Bryan’s kids?
Caroline Boyer is the mother of Luke’s sons Thomas and Tatum.
Luke’s sister Kelly died in 2007, leaving three children behind with her husband Ben. When Ben died in 2017, Luke and Caroline decided to adopt their nephew and two nieces.
“We never thought twice about it,” Caroline told Robin Roberts. “You know, it was never something that he and I had to sit down and talk about. ‘Should we take this on?’ We just did that.”
“I woke up one day and I’m raising a teen. And it’s a challenge because my main thing with Til is just properly giving the right amount of advice and realizing you’re talking to someone who is becoming an adult,” Luke once told People. “I have to be that parent role where if he does something, he needs to get in trouble, but I want to be a friend to him too.”
Who is Luke Bryan’s wife?
Luke and Caroline met while attending Georgia Southern University in fall 1998 at a little bar called Dingus Magee’s. They started dating, but it didn’t last. He was a senior and she was freshman, and after graduation, Luke moved to Nashville to pursue his country music career, while Caroline stayed in college to finish her degree.
They reunited 5-1/2 years later when Luke was playing at a bar in Statesboro and Caroline happened to be in town. This time they stayed in touch via email, and she invited him to her family’s Christmas party. He went and the rest is history.
“I kissed him first! He was always so scared of making a girl feel uncomfortable, he wouldn’t cross a line,” Caroline told People.
Luke and Caroline married on Dec. 8, 2006, in Turks and Caicos, and spent their honeymoon in the Colorado mountains.
Caroline is a Georgia native, born December 31, 1979, to father Waymond Boyer, a social specialist, and mother Yvonne Boyer, an operator at an insurance agency. She has one brother named Bo.
Caroline appears in several of Luke’s music videos including “Crash My Party.”
