As the Christmas season edges, dogs all over Belfast have been invited by the Belfast City Council to a show to raise money for Guide Dogs NI. The Cufty Christmas Fashion Show will take place on the 11th of December 2022 at 2 Royal Avenue to celebrate how the area has become a dog-friendly place.
Those who have any kind or species of dog in the area have been invited by the deputy lord mayor of the county to bring their four-legged animals there and participate in the show. The show will end up giving different types of gifts, such as merchandise (dog fashion clothes) and treats to dogs to honor the invitation.
While speaking on why she chose Guide Dogs NI as one of her official charities this year, she said it was because 2 Royal Avenue of Belfast county has become dog friendly, and this is something that has not been seen in a long time.
“This is set to be a really fun, festive event, and all for a good cause. We’re a city of dog-lovers, and it’s great that 2 Royal Avenue is now a dog-friendly venue, following in the footsteps of St George’s Market.
Deputy Lord Mayor of Belfast County Calls Guide Dogs NI Incredible
While speaking on her choice of charities this year, the deputy lord mayor of Belfast County said that the organization has been excellent and committed to its work. She also added that people should support them to remain active in their course.
“The work of Guide Dogs NI is just incredible; they provide critical support for people who are visually impaired and who rely on these wonderful dogs to help them navigate daily life. Anyone who has witnessed a working guide dog will know just how remarkable they are, and I hope that people will be able to support this fantastic charity while having a bit of fun at the same time,” the deputy lord mayor said.
Owners of dogs are allowed to register their dogs in three categories:
- Sleigh, Sleigh, Sleigh – Christmas Couture
- Man’s Best Friend – dogs and their owner
- Belfast Inspired – local people and local places
According to the organizers of this competition, it is available for dogs of different breeds and ages. Judges will be available to determine the best-performing dogs at the event.
Julian Simmons, a TV personality and broadcaster who will be one of the judges at the event, said that she was honored to be part of those events.
“I’m delighted to be on the judging panel for this fabulous event. I’m sure we’ll see a few divas on the day – on and off the catwalk.
” It really will be a lot of fun – and you don’t need a dog to be part of it. Come down, bring the family and join in the craic – it’s all for a really good cause, too, which makes it even more special,” she said.
This particular event is free for everyone, which means you don’t have to pay any dime to be at the event, and everyone coming can make donations to support different NGOs. Those who are interested can register their dogs at ruby@maywe.co.uk.
