According to Guinness World Records, Styles, 28, set the record for "highest streamed track on Spotify in 24 hours (male category)." In its first 24 hours on the platform, the song received over 16 million streams. Guinness World Records just stated that Harry Styles has the most streamed single on Spotify in a 24-hour period by a male artist. The new single from the British singer-songwriter, "As It Was," was released this week. The song was an instant sensation, and it quickly racked up millions of streams, winning him the Guinness World Record for the most streamed music on Spotify in 24 hours (male). According to Guinness World Records, however, the new song has won the hearts of many people. According to Spotify's Global Top 200 daily chart, the song, which has a mix of classic '80s echoes and modern cheerful sounds, received 16,103,849 streams in its first 24 hours on the platform. The song was chosen as the top tune for today by 34 countries, ranging from Australia to Venezuela, Iceland, and the United Arab Emirates. Adele, whose song "Easy on Me" received more than 19 million Spotify streams in one day, according to Guinness, is another British singer-songwriter who holds the same record for female artists. The most-streamed original in the United States had 8.3 million streams on its first day, overtaking Olivia Rodrigo's "Drivers License" as the most-streamed track in the country (and earning a Spotify record). According to Guinness World Records, the song received 1,247,683 streams in the United Kingdom and 1,168,896 in Mexico.

However, the excitement didn't end with the streaming platform; as of this writing, the YouTube video for "As It Was" has received 39,923,048 views, with more on the way.  Styles' five-year-old daughter Ruby is thought to have done the voiceover for the song, which sets off a '70s-inspired video incorporating several prominent London locations. Adele, who also held the overall record for the most streamed track on Spotify on the day of its launch, earned the most-streamed tune in 24 hours for females. "Easy on Me," her hit track and long-awaited comeback, surpassed the previous record by amassing an amazing 19,749,704 listeners on Spotify on the first day of its release. According to Spotify, Styles' most recent single established two new records. "So far in 2022, As It Was has become Spotify's most-streamed song in a single day, and the most-streamed music in the United States in a single day in Spotify history," the company stated on Twitter. Styles' new album "Harry's House," which will be released on May 20, has the lead single "As It Was." It's the pop star's third solo album since leaving One Direction. The song's charming, '70s-inspired music video has received over 62 million views as of Friday. Tanu Muino directed the video, which sees Styles dressed in a bejeweled red suit dancing with a woman dressed in blue. Arturo Obegero, a Spanish fashion designer, created the glistening outfits. According to Styles' YouTube account, the video was "created with love by a creative team from Ukraine."

At Coachella, Harry Styles revealed a new song.

On Friday, Harry Styles was the headlining act at the Coachella music festival. On Friday at Coachella, Harry Styles debuted two new songs, including one about girlfriends who "take you for granted" and know "exactly how to get under your skin." The folksy ballad, which he said was titled "Boyfriends," came approximately halfway through Styles' main set. He questioned the audience, which included Insider's music staff, "Who in the audience has ever had a boyfriend?" "Has anyone in this room never had a boyfriend?" "Am I sprinkling in nuggets of sexual ambiguity to try and be more interesting? No," he added. Styles frequently urges fans to "be whoever it is you've always wanted to be" during concerts, and many fans interpret his songs "Medicine" and "Lights Up," the latter of which was released on National Coming Out Day in 2019, as LGBT. Styles unveiled another new song, "Late Night Talking," during his intense Coachella concert, which will undoubtedly be included on his upcoming third album, "Harry's House," expected in May.
