Fans and critics have been thrown into deep mourning after Migos rapper Takeoff was killed in the latest shooting in Houston.
The rapper Takeoff was a member of the popular music group Migos, dubbed the "Beatles" of this generation. The Takeoff shooting occurred after the rapper had attended a party in Houston, Texas, on Tuesday morning. The police and the personal attorney of the rapper have confirmed that Takeoff is dead at 28 years.
"Along with my firm, I am devastated by the death of Kirshnik Ball, known by his fans as Takeoff. Takeoff was not only a brilliant musical artist with unlimited talent but also a uniquely kind and gentle soul. He will be greatly missed now and always," Drew Findling, the rapper's attorney, said.
In a press conference arranged shortly after the Takeoff shooting, the Houston police force chief Troy Finner confirmed that the rapper was dead by doctors. He also appealed to witnesses to come to the police and report exactly what they saw during the shooting.
"There were 40 people, at least, at this event. And people left, possibly out of fear."
"I ask you one thing… What if it was your brother? What if it was your son? You would want somebody to step up. Please step up. Get the information to us so we can give some closure to this family who is hurting right now," the police chief said at the press conference.
How Takeoff Shooting Happened
From the information reported by the police and eyewitnesses, the shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. local time in Houston, Texas. The shooting had occurred at a private party held at 810 Billiards and Bowling, the police revealed.
According to the police, an argument broke out shortly after the party, which led to the shooting of the Migos rapper. The police said that before they could arrive at the party, the Migos rapper was already dead at the entrance of the party area.
