Earlier this year, Jamie Foxx, who is best recognized for his roles in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, was admitted to the hospital for a “medical complication.”

Jamie's daughter, Corinne Foxx,  released a statement around a month ago that the actor had suffered a medical complication and that he was recovering in a hospital in Atlanta.

The caption on Instagram read: “We wanted to announce that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. But luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already making his way to recovery. We know how loved he is and appreciate your prayers. However, the family asks for privacy during this time.” Much love, The Foxx Family.”

The medical complication remains unclear, but he was filming the upcoming film Back In Action before the incident. But according to sources, the Spider-Man franchise was said to be shooting a film in Atlanta when he was taken ill. Although little explanation has been officially shared, some publications, including TMZ, suggested that Foxx was first taken to a medical facility in Georgia on Tuesday (April 11).

In recent years Jamie Foxx has hosted game shows like Beat Shazam, where he featured alongside his daughter Corinne, and provided voice roles in Disney’s Soul Anthem and the upcoming comedy Strays.

Jamie himself did not acknowledge or report anything relating to the incident safe for the single post he shared on Instagram. The actor acknowledged the support he had received from fans in an Instagram post on May 3, where he said: “I Appreciate all the love!! Feeling blessed.”

On May 12, Corinne posted another update on Jamie's health condition to dismiss a report stating that his loved ones were preparing for the worst. She confirmed with a statement on her Instagram that her father had been out of the hospital for several weeks.

The Instagram story read: “Update from the family, it is Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. He played pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support!

The 55-year-old actor won the Best Actor Oscar in 2005 for portraying the pianist and singer Ray Charles's role in the biopic Ray. The same year, He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Tom Cruise-led drama Collateral.

The movie which Foxx was working on before the time was an upcoming comedy made for Netflix called Back In Action. The movie also stars actress Cameron Diaz and would be the first movie she appeared in since she retired almost a decade ago.

When is Jamie Coming Back?

On May 12, Corinne shared on her Instagram that they were bringing something exciting she added: “We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!”

Days after her post, it was announced that the pair will be hosting the new music-centric game show We Are Family on the US network Fox, which will premiere next year.

She announced on Instagram: “We Are Family coming 2024! The Foxx Family is headed back to our home on @foxtv & we can’t wait for this new show!”

However, due to Foxx's medical complications, it was announced that Nick Cannon would replace as a host on Beat Shazam for the upcoming sixth season. Which premieres on May 23.

According to Marca, Jamie Foxx is probably alright and just doesn't want to be bothered.
