Jackie Chan has joined the cast of a sequel to his successful 2005 martial arts fantasy-adventure film, 'The Myth.' The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the movie, 'A Legend,' will be directed by Stanley Tong, who has a long-standing collaboration with Jackie Chan and has previously worked on films like 'Rumble in the Bronx.'

 

The Chinese film industry is investing a substantial budget of USD 50 million into the sequel, which is considered significant. Joining Chan in 'A Legend' will be Yixing Zhang from 'Kung Fu Yoga' and Coulee Nazha from 'Police Story 2013.'

 

The upcoming sequel, produced by Bona Film Group, is making its market debut at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Based in Taiwan, Distribution Workshop has taken on the responsibility of handling worldwide sales for the film. In this highly anticipated movie, Jackie Chan will once again step into the shoes of Professor Chen, an archaeology expert.

 

The story unfolds as Professor Chen's keen eye notices a remarkable resemblance between the texture of the artifacts unearthed by his students during a glacier expedition and a jade pendant that has appeared in his dreams. This intriguing discovery sets the stage for a captivating adventure of action and mystery. Audiences can look forward to witnessing Chan's beloved character embark on a thrilling quest fueled by his expertise and the enigmatic connections he uncovers between the past and present.

 

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Professor Chen, played by Jackie Chan, suspects that the jade pendant holds the power to bridge the gap between the dream world and reality. Motivated by this realization, he leads his dedicated research team on an extraordinary expedition into the depths of the Glacier Temple, embarking on a mesmerizing and fantastical adventure.

 

Released in 2005, the original film, 'The Myth,' achieved remarkable success, becoming the third highest-grossing film in Hong Kong that year and accumulating a worldwide box office total of USD 120 million.

 

Despite being 69 years old, Chan continues to showcase his unwavering dedication to his legendary movie career, demonstrating that he has no intention of slowing down.

 

Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker are set to reunite in the beloved action-comedy franchise's highly anticipated sequel, Rush Hour 4. Both actors have expressed their enthusiasm for returning to their iconic roles.

Tucker mentioned that the upcoming installment will offer something fresh and exciting, taking the franchise to a whole new level. The original Rush Hour film introduced audiences to the dynamic duo of Chief Inspector Lee (played by Chan) and Detective James Carter (played by Tucker) as they embarked on a mission to rescue a kidnapped Chinese diplomat's daughter.

 

The movie's immense success led to creation of two sequels, Rush Hour 2 and Rush Hour 3. Fans can eagerly anticipate the next chapter in the thrilling and hilarious Rush Hour series with Chan and Tucker.
