What’s the weirdest delivery time you have gotten? We bet it can’t be as weird as one from an Amazon customer who was shocked by what the company did. Apparently, the customer had made a purchase a couple years back, but surprisingly just got their order. Weird, right? It seems like a bad joke and we can only wonder what was on the customer’s mind when he received Amazon late delivery.

D-Day: Uncertain

On October 1, 2022, an Amazon customer Jay placed an order for a pressure cooker, but had decided to cancel the order. In such a scenario, he would receive the full refund of the payment and such a transaction would have been completed. However, that wasn’t the end of it, as Jay got a surprise delivery on August 28, 2024 and the package was the pressure cooker he had ordered circa two years ago.

Now this would have been shocking for anyone, because they would be confused as to where the order came from or who owned it. Well, for Jay, it was a moment of surprise and shock, as he took to social media to share the occurrence. In his post he said “Thank you Amazon for delivering my order after 2 years, the cook is elated after the prolonged wait, must be a very special pressure cooker!”.

The sarcasm of the tweet was what caught the attention of most users, who all camped on the post to get a laugh and share their opinions on the pressure cooker delivery.

Deja Vu: Amazon Late Delivery

In a moment of virility, Jay’s post gathered lots of people who all came to share their views, as some couldn’t believe the absurdity of the entire thing. Another user who also shared their own similar story about how they received their order eight months after. Apparently, the user had reported the product as missing and had gotten a refund on their purchase.

There was also another user who said they got a duplicate of their original order months after the transaction. All these stories showed that there are lots of funny moments to be seen when it comes to online shopping.

In a turn of events, Amazon finally responded to Jay’s tweet and told him to reach out to their support team, but Jay wasn’t having any of it. He responded by saying, “Report what? The [pressure cooker delivery]order was canceled and refunded back in 2022? And delivered out of nowhere yesterday. How do I pay for it now?"

Final Thoughts

Let’s be honest, the way we buy things has seen some incredible growth over the years. This has allowed us to normalize same day delivery. However, we have to understand that there are occasional issues. Just like what happened with Jay, we are curious about other cases in similar categories.

If you have such stories, you can share them with us in the comment section. Anyways, just like one of the users on Jay’s comment said, “Online shopping is like a treasure hunt, and you never know what you’ll get or when you’ll get it!”
