1) Tenet (2020)

Another sci-fi movie by Christopher Nolan, the director of Interstellar. Tenet is a 3-hour, 30 minutes long movie that narrates the story of a CIA agent who has learned to reverse and control time flow for individuals or things. 

He decides to use his ability to prevent an attack from the future that has the potential of ruining the present but will he be achieve this against all odds and get time to do his bidding?

Reviews rate this movie as the most confusing piece by Nolan yet, but if you are in for some adventure, you should try watching it to solve the mental puzzles viewers were left with.

2) The Cloverfield Paradox (2018)

The Cloverfield paradox is a sci-fi and horror movie written by Oren Uziel and Doug Jung and directed by Julius Onah. If you are familiar with the Cloverfield series, this movie tells the story of a group of astronauts performing a particle accelerator experiment on a space station.  For the next 11 hours and 42 minutes, you'll witness horror, thrill, suspense, and everything in between trying to solve Earth's energy crisis, which may not end well.

3) Proxima (2019)

Written and directed by Alice Winocour, Proxima Is a French film that features space missions and parent-child relationships. Just like Interstellar, the movie will likely reel you in on the emotions of each character when a female astronaut and their mum has to convince her 8-year-old about leaving her behind for a year-round mission in Space. You'll experience the psychology of real-life astronauts before a mission for the next 1 hour, and 47 minutes.

4) Life (2017)

Life is another sci-fi horror movie written by Rhett Reese, and Paul Wernick and directed by Daniel Espinosa that will involve you in the journey of finding extraterrestrials. A seemingly harmless microorganism found on the mission soon becomes a hostile life form that threatens everything. You'll enjoy 11 hours and 44 minutes of exploring everything that goes wrong and doesn't.

5) The Matrix (1999)

A blockbuster written and directed by The Wachowskis. This 2-hour, 16 minutes long movie will make you question reality. The Matrix, though two decades long will still leave you in a feeling of reverie if you watched it today. It has produced 4 more sequels with the most recent being, The Matrix Ressurection.

It remains a good watch for a lifetime.

6) The Midnight Sky (2020)

George Clooney stars in this sci-fi movie he directed. The Midnight Sky is based on the novel Good Morning, Midnight by Lily Brooks-Dalton in 2016. Augustine (George Clooney), an aging scientist, has to find a way to warn a spaceship from entering Earth again after a catastrophic event that rendered it inhabitable. Being the only survivor left on Earth, he has to devise a way to ward them off before they reach. 

Clooney's breathtaking performance brings the film's theme to life.

7) Ad Astra (2019)

James Gray co-writes and directs this sci-fi movie about space travel. Brad Pitt plays the lead role as an astronaut who goes to space in search of his father. Just like Interstellar, Ad Astra also explores a parent-child relationship and the possibility of a space mission. 

Will Roy(Brad Pitt) find his father, and will he overcome the accidents caused by mysterious power surges? It's a 2-hour, 44-minute-long, and tense drama you'll enjoy.

8) The Tomorrow War (2021)

This 2-hour, 18 minutes movie also explores the parent-child relationship but presents so much action that leaves you rooted to your seat until the end. If you enjoyed Interstellar, you would appreciate the deep family connection it explores with loads of action.
