If you are a Beyhive or know someone who is, you probably share their reservation about the just concluded 65th Grammy Awards Ceremony. They all believe the Renaissance Album should have won the award for the album of the year.
The 53-year-old rapper and husband to Beyonce, Jay-Z, shared the same view and disclosed this in a recent interview with Tindal. He recounted how this was not a first-time loss. Her 2013 Beyoncé and 2016 Lemonade albums also lost the recognition they deserved as album of the year.
In response to a question about why he thinks Renaissance deserved the album of the year award, he explained that everyone had massively accepted the album. It was an unusual experience for him.
"Look what it's done to the culture. Look how the energy of the world moved, "They play her whole album in the club. I don't know if I've ever seen that. The whole joint — like, everything?!" Jay-Z admitted.
Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter is an American songwriter and singer whose outstanding success and extraordinary devotion to her music have made into a cultural icon. "Queen Bey", as millions of her fans fondly called her all over the world, made her first solo album debut, Dangerously In Love, in 2003. It raved many reviews and found acceptance on the lips of many. The former "Destiny Child" girl group lead became known for her mindblowing vocal prowess and has since won the heart of many as the queen and music legend she is.
The "I am Sasha Fierce" crooner made the record as the artist with the most Grammy Award wins after she took home 4 awards at the just concluded Grammys. Her win in the best dance/electronic music album category especially makes it a total of 32 golden gramophones and 88 nominations to her name.
Harry Styles, the winner of the 2023 album of the year award, also expressed his pleasant surprise at winning the award. "This doesn't happen to people like me very often. This is so so nice, thank you.", the 29-year-old singer said after receiving his award for the music album Harry House.
Other contenders in the "Album of the Year Award" category were In These Silent Days by Brandi Carlile, Special by Lizzo, Good Morning Gorgeous (Deluxe) by Mary J. Blige, 30 by Adele, The Big Steppers by Kendrick Lamar, Un Verano Sin Ti by Bad Bunny, Music of the Spheres by Coldplay, Mr Morale, and Voyage by ABBA.
