While speaking on the latest episode of her podcast, Archetypes, Meghan Markle revealed she shares some roots with Nigeria. Nigeria is a country that is located in the western part of Africa.

During the podcast, Meghan Markel was speaking with a Nigerian-American comedian Ziwe Fumudoh when she dropped the bombshell. Obviously, from all the countries in the world, nobody expected her genealogy to be 43% Nigerian.

Below are exactly the words that were said during the podcast.

Meghan Markel: "I just had my genealogy done a couple of years ago."

Fumudoh: "What? What are you?"

Meghan Markle: "43% Nigerian."

Fumudoh: "No way! Na wa o! Oh my gosh! Are you really serious?"

Meghan Markle: "yea!"

While speaking at the podcast, the Duchess of Sussex said she would "start to dig deeper into all this" in the near future. Meghan Markle's mother is an African-American, and her father is Caucasian.

An episode of the podcast had both Meghan Markle and those featured talking about stereotypes that labeled black women as angry. Markle related the topic to the issue she had faced in the Royal Palace, where she was named a difficult woman.

One of her aides quit after saying the duchess was difficult to work with in the Palace. She was accused of having "dictatorial behavior."

Meghan Markle waved away those allegations saying, "You're allowed to set a boundary. You are allowed to be clear.”

Meghan Says She's Half Black and Half White

This is not the time the 41-year-old duchess of Sussex has made comments regarding her background and race. The first time she was recorded saying something similar was in 2019, after her marriage to Prince Harry.

In September 2019, she addressed South African teens by telling them she was a woman of color.

"While I'm here with my husband, as a member of the royal family, I want to you to know that for me, I'm here with you as a mother, as a wife, as a woman, aaa woman of color, and as your sister," she had said while speaking to an audience at a charity event in Johannesburg.

The duchess is always skeptical when it comes to answering questions relating to her race and background.

Megan Markle's Problems with the Royal Family

Since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry fell in love; life hasn't been smooth regarding her relationship with the royal family.

Meghan Markle started dating Prince in 2016, and both have spoken about their relationship several times. They wedded in May 2018 amidst drift between Prince William and Prince Harry. It was alleged that Prince William wasn't happy with how the relationship between the two was running fast.

The two brothers and their wives had started a charity together but later split in 2019 after it was reported they were unhappy with each other.

Meghan Markle also spoke about how it was hard for her to adapt to the lifestyle of the British family. "I really tried to adopt this British sensibility of a 'stiff upper lip.' I really tried, but I think that what that does internally is probably really damaging."

However, the relationship between the duchess and the Royal family might be in place since Prince Charles was declared a king.

He said in his first speech as king," I want to express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas."
